Thanks Sorcha, that's good advise. I already have a lap harp, + a Celtic harp and a small orchesteral type lever harp. But I will look into what you are sujesting.

You'd have more luck finding a used lap harp than a pedal harp, I think. You might try contacting the Symphony Orchestras and see what they do when a harp needs replacing.........it's very probable that the instrument belongs to the harper but perhaps the Symphony office could give you a name to contact.

Yes, but they are usually mint, and so is the price! Iam hoping that someone has an old harp covered in cobwebs stuck in a corner (or in the attic) that is no longer any use, but in need of restoration.

Iam looking for a pedal harp in the UK. Prefer an old scrap one that I could do up. Anybody know of anything that fits the bill?
