It is Chantey, Manitas is the husband who also posts here. The difference between them is that only one of them craps in the flower pots. He says it's her, but I'm not passing judgement til I see her do it....

Ah, kilt refresher. Sounds like there's an untapped market. Shall we make a pump spray or aerosol? With a scent of new mown hay? or a nice peaty single malt? (Eau de Laphroaig)

Should be on everyone's Christmas list . . .

Got home OK then Chantey? It was good to meet you, albeit fleetingly. Manitas finished the wine off later that night..... I don't know why Micca was complaining, I was fine the next day!

I am beginning to see a pattern here. We in the colonies love Micca, his sense of humor, his odd dress, even his songs and voice. You, across the pond, find him loud, intrusive, bawdy, and crude. So...how about we keep him and you can have your pick of the litter from the States or Canada? Gargoyle would make for an even swap. Or maybe Kendall? Let us know and we'll get the paperwork started.

I think he just works and sleeps at the moment - no change there then....

It can only mean he's preparing a 16 page monologue about his trip, entitled 'In the Boonies with a Flamingo' or 'Travels with my exotic bird'.... 'MudCat 'Merica and Flamingo Fetishes'?

Run and hide whilst you can...... !

Er... Animaterra....? Isn't it time for your medication?

(Luckily) Micca was still jet/festival lagged when he appeared on my doorstep with Chanteyranger, so I was spared the worst.... however, he did tell me about the flamingo, and I sincerely hope he'll do the honest thing.... I'll stand Godparent if you need me to....

And he did deliver vast quantities of chocolate, from my American friends, for which I thank you from the bottom of my stomach!!

Chanty is charming and should already be on a train to Victoria to pick up the Gatwick express to wing his way homewards.... he also drank vast quantities of water.... hope there's a cloakroom on the train.....

This made me giggle this morning as I was listening to songs I brought home from the Getaway... There are several more verses but you get the idea....

PRETTY LITTLE PINK

Lord, lord my pretty little pink
Lord, Lord I say
Lord, Lord my pretty little pink
I'm goin away to stay

Cheeks as red as a red red rose
Her eyes like diamond round
I'm gonna see my pretty little miss
Before the sun goes down

Fly around my pretty little miss
Fly around my daisy
Fly around my pretty little miss
You almost drive me crazy

Well I recon' you think my pretty little miss
That I can't live without you
But I'll let you know before I go
I care very little about you

Speaking of birds: word from New Hampshire is that a somewhat despondant flamingo layed two eggs this morning. One was accidentally scrambled into Curmudgeon's breakfast - Linn finished off the rum cake and bourbon balls with her morning coffee and the ...well. The second is carefully nestled into a tartan shawl while Miss Flossie sits quietly and anxiously upon it humming "My Lady Of The Darkness". The question is: "Will Micca do the right thing and make an honest flamingo of her or abandon her and her offspring to the bitter winter and sniggering locals?"
Time will tell.
SINSULL, trying to imagine what this poor little chickie will look like.

Well, Susette and I dropped Micca at the airport in plenty of time. He was falling asleep in the backseat, he's worn to a frazzle. We took him for a short hike by the Potomac River and a picnic on the way to the airport. Last night with had dinner with him and Bill D at the Royal Mile. Lots of good conversation. It's been a great visit. And so this chapter ends.

And Liz? I've know him for 23, that's TWENTY THREE years.

Ode To Micca

Blessings on you, bearded man
Bare-assed elf with cheeks of tan
With your broad unkilted moon
And thy dirty bawdy tunes...More to come.

Don't know how the rumor started but a lady at the Press Room kept telling me how lucky I was to have married you!?! Didn't have the heart to tell her about the flamingo.

It's NOT idle speculation -- there were witnesses! (The bribe money can be left in the hollow tree, next to the stone wall, just this side of The Rock, before you get to the shirt nailed to the other tree.)

(quietly: "Thank you.")

Oh, ah, what incident? Nothing happened that I saw. Bit of a bore, really, we all fell asleep after a really nice cup of tea. Gee, wish we could have had some interesting conversation while Micca was here. What do you have to do to get him to talk?

Sorry about those directions. I was forgetting about New Jersey road signs.

To get to I95 South you had to take the exit labelled I95 North. And the directions to cross the bridge into Pennsylvania didn't get signposted until about two miles AFTER you should have turned off.

Next time you travel in a foriegn country - buy a bloody map. Of course that still won't tell you about the road signs.

Micca on tour
I wish to go on record and register my grateful thanks to Mary Sinsull for her unfailing good humour and support and generally all round niceness during the last week, she laughed in the face of adversity(in spite of the Hansell school of map Directions) and took lightly those times when it could have been more difficult... I miss you already,Mary, and I thank you for your support and tolerence, Love, Micca (copy from the BD thread) Just dont mention the pink!!!
