We are getting married in January. Are looking for traditional and non-traditional Celtic wedding music and songs. We will have friends (guitar, mandolin, harmonica, piano) playing for us. Also, can anyone give us any suggestions on places (web as well as non-web) to find Celtic music? We are both part of the McGregor clan. Thanks for all help. Cathy

there is a nice piece to the tune of "Be Thou My Vision" called "God in the Planning" if you happen to like a Christain type song

Weel, wee McGregor -[-:)]---someone has given you excellent pointers to the wedding songs, but if ye want to extol the Great Clan, how about "MacGregor's Gathering"? How about "Give Me Your Hand"?

One waltz we have used quite a bit for weddings is "Two Rivers" by Larry Unger, although it's a modern piece. Another is "Rain In the Desert" by Liz Donaldson

We've used "Prince William" for a processional in a couple of weddings, and people seem to like it. I believe this one's in the Fiddler's Fakebook.

I'm fed up of saying his, but Mhairh is pronounced VARRIE in Scotland and (usually) MOIRA in Ireland.

On the other hand, a good wedding song to sing to a friend is May You Never by John Martyn - that's what it was written for
