Have you heard Bill\Sables has now got a 'proper' job! working at York Dungeon, dressed up in strange clothes. He's there to scare the punters, leaping out on them when they think he's a dummy and then trying to impart knowledge into them.

Sounds like Bill at any folk festival doesn't it?

Be prepared for a very large influx of new 'Catters from the fair city of York.

I'd like a job leaping out at people as well but I scare them quite enough sitting behind a desk!

I wonder whether Bill is brandishing his "Little Wonder" when he does that? (;>)

You sure he's not there as prisoner? And why put strange clothes on him - isn't his beard strange enough?

Keep looking behind you Bill, I know of one or two Bonfires who are looking for a Guy Fawkes to sit on top, doesn't pay much but you get a great view of the Firework Display.........Phil*

So the secret is out. Yes, after many years of holding an EQUITY card I have finaly taken the plunge and become a full time actor. The job consists of scaring deceant folks like you and me and trying to give factual information regarding York's grizzly past. I play the part of an elderley ghost and roam through the passageways of York Dungeon through the years of plague and witchcraft trials, then into the era of Guy Fawkes and on to the hanging of Highwayman Dick Turpin. It is great fun, I can keep my beard long and I even get paid to do it.
Sorcha I asked Emma about the tea and she said she had sent it.
Dave the Gnome, looking forward to seeing you at York, but be very afraid. After all it is Halloween
Cheers Bill

Aw, Bill, and I thought you were wearing some kind of leather harness in a place where people played with whips and canes and such! We have an old, once-abandoned prison here in Phila, too, though I spose what we consider "old" is not so old to "Old-worlders" like you. You can take tours of our old prison, but it has no ghost, as far as I know. They did have Al Capone there for a while. I'll take you to see it when you're around, if you want. Anyway, congrats on the new job!

Luvya,

Marymac
