Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa HINTS THREAD PART FOUR From: SharonA Date: 02 Nov 01 - 09:07 AM KarenB, you're a wonder! Thank you for telling all the SSS's (Silent Secret Santas) that they've been missed here! Ah, but have I posted a message to my Santee yet? Maybe so... then again, maybe not... ;^) |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa HINTS THREAD PART FOUR From: Allan C. Date: 02 Nov 01 - 08:55 AM Note to Dani or to Dani's Santa: That "tome" can be found here at a price that you may be surprised to note is well within reasonable limits. If, for some reason, this link should not prove to connect properly, do a search for the title at: http://www.alibris.com/home.cfm Others may also wish to investigate this (often inexpensive) source for books. |

Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa HINTS THREAD PART FOUR From: Mary in Kentucky Date: 02 Nov 01 - 08:39 AM Since my Secret Santa duties have ended, sniff sniff, and I don't have anything to do, sniff sniff, and I have all this free web space at ivillage.com, why don't some of y'all send me some pictures to put up? Also, PM me if you want a web page for your santee. I could disguise myself and play Santa for lots of folks, but I really do hate being anonymous. It's like my brother-in-law said about lying (he planned a surprise birthday party for his wife), "It gets easier the more you do it!" |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa HINTS THREAD PART FOUR From: Dani Date: 02 Nov 01 - 08:31 AM Gee, how do you do all that fancy 'guest' stuff? I'm still trying to figure out how to change my postmark without getting arrested. I was sort of joking about the tome. Don't expect to receive that from my mudcat Santa, but thought putting it in writing might get the idea into the REAL Santa's head. It's the kind of thing you put 10 dollars a week aside for the rest of your life to buy. Unless it's a business expense. I just love grammar, Latin and Greek roots, etymology of all kinds. You know, where words come from, and how we use the language. I'm the kind of wierdo who enjoys teaching subject/verb agreement. Really, gift-wise, I'm easy, and not easy. I was serious about the sand: I have many of them, from all over the world, in small glass jars. But not nearly enough! It's very cool to hold them, and then see them compared to all the others, and imagine all the places they've come from. Kids love to help me plot them all on the globe. I love gospel in the Black tradition, "folk" of almost any kind, but especially good, hard a cappella music. My CD of the year last year was Ken and Allison, Nextradition. After this Getaway, it's the Johnson Girls' and Kendall Morse. I hate clothes, but wear 'em anyway. I especially hate t-shirts. I'm a gardener, and a cook, and am relentlessly, ruthlessly curious. Now you know more about me than most of my friends and family. Dani |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa HINTS THREAD PART FOUR From: GUEST,CapriUni's Secret Santa Date: 02 Nov 01 - 05:02 AM Wassail! I'm on the case. Elves are complaining like billy-o, but I've told 'em that all mince-pie rations will be cut unless productivity is increased. It takes a lot of work to knit a book, you know. |
Subject: RE: BS: Secret Santa HINTS THREAD PART FOUR From: Noreen Date: 02 Nov 01 - 04:54 AM Ooooh goodie! Thank you Santa, just a thought of warm sunshine cheers me up on a cold grey day here. Local snippets would be lovely- and a photograph? Happy happy! Noreen |
