This song is sung by Emmylou Harris on her Angel Band album, and by the Stanley Brothers on Hymns and Sacred Songs.

Also on The Slanley Brothers: The Early Years 1958-1961, disc 1 (Starday/King KBSCD-7000), where notes say "The latter song ["He Said If I Be Lifted Up"] dates back to 1944 when it was copyrighted by Edith Clapp Bradshaw."

Geez, How'd you guess Mary that I was listening to Emmylou Harris.(LOL) I had forgotten about that album of hers ("Angel Band")But it is my favorite gospel recording. Brought me a bit of comfort when my grandmother died a few years back. I only wish I could tell Emmylou how much I appreciated the recording. Thanks for your help all, Charcloth
