...there's a very talented duo who will be playing for free at Brittinghams, Sunday Nov. 11. They're a couple of locals who go by the name, 'The King Brothers'. I saw them 2 weeks ago and was quite impressed. They were up against an Eagles game so it wasn't over crowded. They've also just started mixing in a bit of Irish folk which brings interesting flavour to the gig.

Just thought I'd let you all in on a good thing...

Dunkle--Brittingham's is on the south side of Germantown Pike, in Lafayette Hills, maybe about halfway between the end of Chestnut Hill and the Ikea store in Plymouth Meeting Mall. Max, Emily, and I have been there a couple of times to hear mudcatter Seamus Kennedy.

There is also bluegrass regularly at the Mermaid, on about the 7100 block of Germantown Ave, near Creisham Valley Drive. They have a big bluegrass jam one Tuesday each month, and some of their weekend performers are BG, too. My favorite event there is the Open Circle, on the first and third Thursdays. You can stop in there and pick up a calendar, and sign up for the email version.

We should get together with Guest and some of the other Phila-area Mudcatters sometime! Give Max time to put his life back together, and come be on the Mudcat Radio Show with us, once it resumes!

Marymac

Oh yeah – count me in, please, Mary! BTW, the phone number of the Mermaid Inn is 215-247-9797.

Hi all, I have seen the King Brothers before at the Mermaid and it was a lot of fun. The Mermaid Inn is small but they get great entertainment. I'd have to say that I'm glad that the King Bros are going to be at Brittinghams this time. I remember that place having more room on a Sunday and friendly folks. I'll be there...maybe I'll see some of you!!!
