Subject: Got Chantey Sing pix From: Sourdough Date: 07 Nov 01 - 05:36 AM Even though I got to the Chantey Sing in San Francisco late in the day and was having such a good time that I wasn't focusing on taking photographs, I do have some and will upload them to wherever they can be viewed. Where is that? Sourdough |

Subject: RE: Got Chantey Sing pix From: Peter Kasin Date: 08 Nov 01 - 08:09 PM Sourdough captures that night well. Thanks for posting these. Catters toadfrog, Elise, Riggy, Radriano, Joe Offer, Melani, Barry Finn, p.j., and Skip Henderson were there. It was a great turnout for this 20th anniversary sing. 310 people in the hold of the C.A. Thayer, the biggest turnout since, I understand, the early 1980's. We normally average 100 participants. This one brought people who were present at the creation in 1981 on up to about 25 attending for the first time. Barry was in top form, with as strong a voice as ever, which surprised me as I expected him to still be working his way back, but he's there! chanteyranger |
Subject: RE: Got Chantey Sing pix From: Melani Date: 08 Nov 01 - 10:16 PM Barry can sure come sing with us any old time. I nearly fell over when I first heard him. What a voice! |
Subject: RE: Got Chantey Sing pix From: Peter Kasin Date: 08 Nov 01 - 10:20 PM ....and you ought to hear Melani. A longtime festival volunteer, she made her fest program debut, and has a fine voice! Think about a mudcat radio spot, Melani. |
