We have a venue!!!! Quality Inn on I-25 in north Cheyenne has just added a new bar and would LOVE to have us!! I need to know what times to schedule.

It will be a "public venue"--don't see how we can exclude the public, but it is understood that we are having a jam session, not putting on a perf.

I have to call them in Sat. morning with times.......it's a new bar, so hopefully, it won't be too full of smoke yet. Respond here, or PM me if you need my phone #

IT'S GONNA HAPPEN, FOLKS!!

Do they understand about the acoustic music versus Bronco Game, juke box, etc.? If we started early, the Broncos are probably playing from 2-5:30, so that could be a conflict (not for me).

Tuff shit for the Broncos. If I book the bar, the TV stays OFF!!! Bronco fans can find a new bar. I will stipulate that when I call tomorrow. Noon-ish is fine for me.......and I can stay as late as I want!!!

Yes, ma'am.

We would probably come up early and leave about 6 or seven, if Bert is ok with that. Cheyenne's about 2 1/2 hours from Denver isn't it?

Yes, about 2.5 hrs from Denver, about 2.5 from Casper. Map to the Quality Inn is HERE. Click numbers to zoom in or out........it appears to be right on I-25 if you zoom out.

Sorcha, I'll let bet know, though I doubt if it would work for her since she'll have to teach the next morning.

That sounds great, the only thing that concerns me is smoke. I just cannot be around it; not after the last bout where I got so sick. I guess we'll just have to see how it goes.

Thanks for doing this! It'll be great to see you all, finally, and it looks as though the weather is going to be gorgeous.

Anyone heard from Bert???

kat

katdarlin', it's a brand new bar, so hopefully there won't be a lot of residual smoke. We smokers will be happy to accomodate you. We'll go outside or something. Hell, we'll play in lobby if we have to. Git yer ass down there, womon!!!!

Oh, I'm coming, no worries, I just might be in the lobby a lot, too!! **BG**

I want to thank you all for being so considerate. It is not that I am stuck in Wyoming, so much as Rog and I both just had a long weekend of driving and about one of those per month is enough for me. As well as, one reason we are up here and not on the Eastern Slope of Colorado is to stay out of the bloody traffic!**BG**

I'd drive myself, but the meds I take, have warning labels about operating machinery and falling asleep. I have really good naps when Rog drives! LOL!!

This will be GREAT!!

BlueJay, how far is it? There are some pretty inexpensive motels rooms in Cheyenne if you don't care about things like having a phone in the room. I am sorry you have to come so far, but it will be a pleasure to finally meet you!

Not really that far Kat- I'm about 4 hrs out of Denver. I don't think I can leave at 6 am to get there by noon, ('course I don't believe the world should start until at least 10 am), but it's sounding like this may be an all day/maybe night thing. I wouldn't miss it! See ya there. BlueJay

Has anyone contacted Banjoman? Rex, are you in?

I haven't practised in ages and I use my songbook and I cannot tell you what key I am in and I may just sit back and listen, but I will be smiling all the way through it!!

Rex, that's great. If you look back up there a bit, Sorcha said noonish was doable, so I think that's what she's probably planning on, as we will, too.

Sure wish Bert'd check in, I think he was thinking he wouldn't be able to get up there until the evening.

How many does that make? I count--Sorch, Kate, Kat, Rog, Rex, BlueJay, LEJ, Bert, Tree? Anybody else coming up with Bert? Kelly? Who--who? I doubt if the pub/inn will care, I'm just curious.

More info: Just talked to the Inn and we are on. They said if the bar is too crowded with Broncos fans they are going to let us use the restaurant. Since there is a restaurant, we won't have to order out for pizza! Doesnt' look like we need to bring anything except music and a little money!! (The restaurant will probably be no smoking, too, kat)

Oh, well. It's ok. I'll just dust my whatnots and rearrange the doodads. A nice, quiet Sunday. Just fine with me. Really. No, really.

Have fun all! Saw ya later
