I'm looking (in vain, it seems) for the lyrics to John Bassette's "Evening News". John was a staple of the Hessler Road Street Fair in Cleveland, Ohio, and I have only seen one copy of any of his works West of the Mississippi. Can anyone from the Old Homeland (Ohio) or anywhere else help?

I believe it was on the album, "Wine and Weed", but might have appeared on "The Saga of the Emerald City Cowboy". Thanks!!!

~Gaffer~

Sorry....no help here either. Hollowfox may know something of him, but I don't know diddly-squat! Cleveland isn't really part of Ohio anyway........

Seriously, I recognized the name but that's about all. PM to Hollowfox maybe will turn up something.

Looking for the lyrics to John Bassette's "Evening News".

John was a staple member of the community in Cleveland, Ohio, and while his recordings aren't often found outside the area, I am hoping that someone has a copy of "Wine and Weed" or "Saga of the Emerald City Cowboy", and can help me find these lyrics.

Please respond to me at gafferbear@yahoo.com

Thanks.

There are a number of John Bassette cuts on YouTube, but be sure you spell his name correctly--that is, with the 'e' at the end.
