Subject: Looking for Paddy Du From: Darrell English Date: 20 Feb 98 - 07:47 PM I just heard a great version of Paddy Du, by a group called "Longbottom" who are playing in Winnipeg, CANADA. I would like to find the lyrics to the song. The chorous goes: I could have been a wealthy man I might have been a sailor But I'm doing life in Rupertsland and The Company is my jailer. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated CHEERZ |
Subject: RE: Looking for Paddy Du From: Jim Dixon Date: 04 May 06 - 07:23 PM Here's Google's cache of http://longbottom.iuma.com/, which indicates it has an mp3 of PADDY DHU, performed by Longbottom, but the web site was down when I tried to go there. Maybe later? (Note that I have revived a very old thread.) |
Subject: RE: Lyr req: Looking for Paddy Du From: Jim Dixon Date: 07 May 06 - 09:10 PM This page says you can download Longbottom's PADDY DHU, but you need to download a program first. I'm not sure this is safe, so I won't do it myself. |
Subject: RE: Looking for Paddy Du From: Joe Offer Date: 17 Jan 10 - 08:30 PM Amazon says the song was on a CD by a musician named Ted Longbottom, but the CD is no longer available. Anybody have the song? Could it be a derivative of "Johnny Dhu"?? -Joe Offer- |
Subject: RE: Looking for Paddy Du (by Ted Longbottom?) From: GUEST,999 Date: 17 Jan 10 - 08:35 PM I tried to reach him via Myspace; however, he's not answered and I don't expect he will (was over a month ago). He seems not to go to his site there. As Joe mentioned, Ted Longbotton is a person, not a band, although he may have a band with him. |
