Subject: LYRICS NEEDED: "Now boys, a vest of steel I'm
From: Burnley Library

We have a library patron seeking lyrics to an old song about Pretty Boy Floyd....not the Woody Guthrie song, however......does this ring any bells?

Some sketchy lyrics.... Now boys, a vest of steel I'm wearing, made out of little steel wires. To keep all those bullets away from my heart, because my heart is precious to me. I have a sweet wife and a baby, who is waiting for me back home. I want to go back to see them, but the cops won't leave me alone.

Any help will be great!!! Burnley Library Cottonwood Falls, KS mailto:burnley@valu-line.net

I've heard Woody's intro of his Pretty Boy a number of times , but I just heard another intro, about how the Banks back then were trying to find reasons to fold while the cash was still on the inside. Like the recent bank failures, the goverment stepped in & put a stop on the bank foreclosures, Pretty Boy became the next convenient cause of bank failure, as the banks got robbed from the inside, he'd get the blame miles away.
