heard a great song with lyrics that indicated the singer was tired of talking about issues: lyric example: I dont wanna talk about it, i dont wanna think about it, i dont wanna know how I feel about it, etc. Anyone have a clue as to who did the song and what the real lyrics were?

Emmylou Harris has a song called "I Don't Want to Talk About Now" on her latest CD. Could this be it?

I don't want to talk about it was recorded by Everything but The Girl, they are a male/female duo from Hull, the song was a big chart hit a few years ago, and has been rcorded by Rod Stewart amongst others.I dont have the lyrics to hand but if nobody posts them I will try to copy them from a CD tomorow.(it is about 4AM here in the UK)

John - I may be wrong but I think the song you are referring to is a song called "I Don't want to Talk About It" written by a Danny Gatton, recorded first by Crazy Horse (Neil Youngs backing band) in the early '70s and then picked up and made a big seller by Rod Stewart. The lyrics as given by Guest Green seem at odds with those versions.

I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT
(Danny Whitten)

I can tell by your eyes that you've prob'bly been cryin' forever,
And the stars in the sky don't mean nothin' to you. They're a mirror.
I don't want to talk about it, how you broke my heart.
If I stay here just a little bit longer,
If I stay here, won't you listen to my heart, whoa, heart?

If I stand all alone, will the shadow hide the color of my heart:
Blue for the tears, black for the night's fears?
The star in the sky don't mean nothin' to you. They're a mirror.
I don't want to talk about it, how you broke my heart.
If I stay here just a little bit longer,
If I stay here, won't you listen to my heart, whoa, heart?
I don't want to talk about it, how you broke this ol' heart.

If I stay here just a little bit longer,
If I stay here, won't you listen to my heart, whoa, heart?
My heart, whoa, heart.

[Recorded by Crazy Horse on "Crazy Horse," 1971; by Rod Stewart on "Atlantic Crossing," 1975; by Everything But the Girl on "Idlewild," 1988, also by Rita Coolidge Nils Lofgren, and many others.]
