I'll Never Break Your Heart (Eugene Wilde, Albert Manno)

This song is sung by A.J and Brian. The spoken part is done by Kevin.

Spoken:
Baby I know you're hurting
Right now you feel like you could never love again
Now all I ask is for a chance
To prove that I love you

From the first day that I saw your smiling face
Honey I knew that we would be together forever
Ooh when I asked you out, you said no but I found out
Darlin' that you'd been hurt
You felt that you've never love again
I deserve a try honey just once
Give me a chance and I'll prove this all wrong
You walked in you were so quick to judge
But honey he's nothing like me

Chorus:
I'll never break your heart
I'll never make you cry
I'd rather die than live without you
I'll give you all of me
Honey that's no lie
(2x)

As time goes by you will get to know me
A little more better, girl that's the way love goes
(baby, baby)
And I know you're afraid to let your feelings show
And I understand, but girl it's time to let go
I deserve a try honey just once
Give me a chance and I'll prove this all wrong
You walked in you were so to judge
But honey he's nothing like me, darlin' why can't you see

Chorus (2x)

Bridge:
Never break your heart
Girl I'll never make you cry
Oh I, oh I, I swear
Never break your heart
Girl I'll never make you cry

Chorus (3x)

Has anybody got the lyrics for the following songs:

The Blizzard (Johnny Cash) The River In the Pines (Joan Baez) Nora Lee (Irish - tune is "Love me tender") Pal of Mine (Irish?)

I would be happy for the texts.

hi,

I stand corrected. The International lyrics server is a great site, where you can search either by song title or name of the band. It is definately the best place to get pop lyrics. That's why I pointed you there.

And Klaus, is it possible that the Joan Baez song is "In the Pines", which is here in the database? I can't remember whether Joan sang that one or not, but look it up and see if that's the one. Put [in the pines] like that, in the box, upper right and enter.
Blessings,
Barbara

OK Klaus, here you go. Here are the words to "Nora Lee" from the "Folksongs and Ballads of Ireland, Book 4" collection by Ossian. By the way, Joe, the notes are as follows: "Nora Lee, also known as 'Aura Lee' in America, has Been around for a long time. One version was unearthed by Richard Hayward and recorded in the 1940's. If the tune sounds familiar -- you're right: it's much better known as 'Love Me Tender', an Elvis Presley classic. The copyright notice on Love Me Tender says: 1950 words and music by Elvis Presley & Vera Matson. This seems a bit cheeky -- the tune is definitely the same as Nora Lee." I agree.

NORA
4/4

All beside a small green hill,
'neath a rowan tree
Sang a blackbird low and sweet,
sang of Nora Lee

Chorus
Nora Lee, Nora Lee, laughing through the fair
springtime goes the way you walk,
and swallows in the air.

In your blush the rose was born,
In your voice a song
Your soft eyes a bright blue star,
lost its light among

Chorus

When the mistletoe is green
Midst the winter snows
Sunshinge in your face is seen
In your cheeks the rose---

Chorus

Though beside the small green hill
No glad bird may sing
In my heart your song endures--
Take my golden ring

Chorus

STOP!!!

READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO FURTHER!!!

We at the Mudcat prefer that new song requests get posted as a separate thread. If you are reading this and thinking, "I could ask about ...." Please go back to the main page either by using the back button in your browser or by clicking on Main Forum at the bottom of the page. Click on start a thread. Give your thread a title like LYR REQ: "your song title here" If you don't know the title, type in a prominent phrase.

This has benefits to you and to others. You will attract more interested people and we Mudcatters will not keep banging our heads on our computer screens because you posted on this thread. If you posted recently and have no response, follow the directions above.

My suggestion to Mudcatters is that we let this thread die by not responding to it.

Thanks to everybody - I am quite overwhelmed by all the answers - I just need "The River in the Pines" which is from the album "Farewell, Angelina", and not "In the Pines" which is a different song.

In addition to Roger's comments above, please give something more than the title if you have it. There are so many songs with the same or nearly the same title that it often takes many postings to get the song properly identified when one starts with a title alone.

By the Waters of Babylon

A wonderful, apocalyptic, sci/fi, story.

If I don't jump in here soon enough, no-doubt B.S. will lead you, to John, (no maybe it was Mathew) ((no perhaps, Joan of Arc)) (((could it be JC himself?))(((I don't know, but it was someone religous.))) ((((No I think it was Edna St. Vincent Belay....that's it!!!))))

It was written by Pulitzer Prize Winner (John Brown's Body) Stephen Vincent Benet and was first a poem and then a short story titled "The Place of the Gods." Planet of the Apes could be considered a "spin-off" of this tale.

Want song title to lyrics that in part are: "... from the house to the graveyard was his only ride". It's a song about a man who buys a car, but the only ride he gets in it is a ride to the graveyard.

Yeah, Wayne!!!

I want to know, too. If we could figure out how you got here, we could find a way to divert similar requests.

Did you use a search engine to find the site? If you did, what did you search under? "Find a song?"

I'm also curious how you got past this:

or this:

So that's it Wayne. One, how did you get connected to a thread from October '98 which many of us hoped had died a respectful and deserved death? Two, how or why did you ignore the two postings from above?

If you can answer these questions, we just might find your song lyrics. Give a little respect, get a little respect.

Roger, you could read the "lighten up" thread and tone down your criticism of a newcomer. Though I too wondered how Wayne missed the red notice directly above his! By the way, I tried to e-mail Wayne, but the message was returned.
everyone who read Roger's notice, probably you shouldn't follow the example of putting quotation marks around your song title as we had a problem with the system not reading quotation marks in thread names. I'm not sure whether this problem has been sorted out yet?

To: finafyr@aol.com Wish I knew the lyrics you asked for. Wish the rest of these yahoos understood that this was a request for a specific song! Just read a quote on an e-page by Voltaire, " Common sense is not so common." Guess that was the case in 1750 too.
