If you find yourself in bed and can't sleep, take an inventory of your entire body, a piece at a time, starting at the top of your head. Thus:

I'd love to run your inventory ANY time, day or night.
Though the hands be stone, you'd find a bone to fit just right. |

Subject: RE: BS: Cure For Insomnia: Inventory Body From: Marymac90 Date: 28 Nov 01 - 02:51 PM Your Inventory technique sounds kind of like a relaxation technique I know. It calls for you to tense up and then completely relax different sets of muscles in succession: feet, legs, tummy, hips, etc. Marymac |

Subject: RE: BS: Cure For Insomnia: Inventory Body From: wysiwyg Date: 28 Nov 01 - 03:11 PM I like to run through an alphabetized Flop Eared Mule to go to sleep. I make them up on the spot. Example: Antsy Pants Barfy Cats Crappy Jazz Ditzie Blonde Effing Fool Fartsy Arts .... and so forth. I am usually either dead gone by this point, or awake enough to get up and go back on Mudcat. *G* Questions? See thread, Flop-Eared Mule. ~S~

Subject: RE: BS: Cure For Insomnia: Inventory Body From: catspaw49 Date: 28 Nov 01 - 03:34 PM Voices will put me to sleep. Not someone singing, I too often get into the song.........But comedy routines that I know by heart are always a winner....maybe 15 minutes and ZAP! Or there are several movies that I like a lot but will now invariably put me to sleep. Harlem Nights is one......I barely make it through the opening craps scene, but now my copy has broken so it's a lot tougher to get to sleep. Although another recent favorite has been on a lot and many nights I can find The General's Daughter on cable somewhere. That one takes a bit longer, but it does the job. I read myself to sleep for years but it doesn't work anymore. Spaw |
