Subject: Vintage Hofner Guitar for Sale From: lloyd64 Date: 01 Dec 01 - 07:36 PM I know of a 1956 Hofner Acoustic Guitar, # 463, available for the right price. Like new! Has not been taken out of the case for over 20 years. The question is what is the right price? |

Subject: RE: Vintage Hofner Guitar for Sale From: DonMeixner Date: 01 Dec 01 - 08:45 PM Hi LLoyd Type in Hofner Guitars into Google and be surprised at what you find. That describes as a very sweet instrument indeed. In like new condition an 40 year old solid mahogany and spruce archtop should be a good instrument to own. There was no mention of price so Dave in his own interesting way may be correct. Try EBay for a dollar figure if they have one in the auction. Another possibility is the Gruhn Book for buying used guitars. Good luck with this, I will be very interested as to where this goes. Don Meuxner |

Subject: RE: Vintage Hofner Guitar for Sale From: catspaw49 Date: 01 Dec 01 - 09:59 PM Sorry Don and Lloyd too.....I need to read for accuracy and comprehension instead of speed. The site is fantastic and very entertaining, but I have a question for Lloyd. Is this a completely acoustic unit or does it have pick-ups. The site isn't clear on exactly what's what and who did what. I did find a 70's vintage President, listed as a 480, but I'd call it an acoustic-electric....very thin body. Anyway, just curious what tis one is. How thick a body, etc. Spaw |
