Hey all you punsters, doesn't anybody remember that there was a complete 60 second commercial that included a very romantic up-beat 80's woman type lyrics that ended in "Wonderful Wonderfull ... Wonder-Bra-a-a". It would be a great number to include in our repertoire. So how about some clues as to where to search for this song. Thanks

Sounds to me (in my head--from the feel of your lyric) like it'd have the tune of " Wonderful, Wonderful Copenhagen" from the old kid's film with Danny Kaye aboutHans Christian Anderson.

Sorry, Reid, but I guess the answer is obvious - comics we may be, but we have NFI about the song. As an alternative, a buddy of mine wrote a song about the time Marshall Fields in Chicago started putting nipples on the mannequins and the possible future developments of this trend. It ends with the line ".. those marketing geniuses who put plastic penises on the mannequins at Mashall Fields".

Just out of curiosity I did an internet search on "Wonderbra" and found a parody on the Wonderwall song by Oasis ( you're allowed to plead ignorance about the band Oasis if you don't listen to modern radio stations or don't have teenage kids. Are there really over 600 sites with references to the Wonderbra? :-0 A cultural phenomenon, perhaps?

Thought it might be appropriate for this thread. It still means that we have NFI (see Alex's comments) about the Wonderbra jingle, but it helps to while away the time until someone comes to the rescue with some *real* information.

Helen, Thanks for the Oasis parody - my 19 year old son is a fan and will get a kick out of it (as did I).

Tim, We are singing 60's style trio type stuff and the Wonderbra jingle is actually a pretty decent tune with nice lyrics until the unsuspecting listener hears the surprise ending. Lots of fun eh? (Canadian eh?)

In the 1950's there was an advertising jingle that played frequently, at least in eastern Wisconsin. Not so surprisingly it was about a cheese. All I remember is: "Wunderbar, Wunderbar, what a wonderful cheese you are" Perhaps it was the folk process that mutated Wunderbar into Wonderbra.

I can't remember any details - except that when I heard it (20 years ago?) I was surprised to find that it was a "Wonderful, Wonderfulll.... Wonderbra-ah" commercial.

I still think the people who ran the ads or created the ads, should have some archive footage somewhere of this commercial - but so far I've not found who or where!

Oh woe is me - Will my life never be fulfilled!!

don't know this one, as I was probably in my braless phase when it went by; do know a wonderful song entitled "Flying Bras at Sunset," about the joys of coming home and ripping off the damn over-the-shoulder-bouldet-holders. I'll try to remember the post the composer and tape title tomorrow.
