Will: Very punny! Think I'm gonna barf! Very punny indeed...

On the other hand,... I'm a unitarian, so I guess we might get away with it.. I mean I do folk songs at church, right...? So why not Neil Diamond??

Cheers, BK

I dunno, I kinda like the image of liturgical Neil. Maybe one could view it as a sort of altar ego?

Joe, Neil Diamond as liturgical music? I'm with you. Yuk, ick, the director is way off base. Save that stuff for retro dances at the high school.

Waitaminit....Neil Diamond....1950's folk....this is some kind of joke, right??? Aaaaaarrrrrgh!
Actually, I like some of Neil's Diamond's stuff, especially his "Tap Root Manuscript" experiment with African music. The song mentioned is "Holly, Holy." Since it has the word "holy" in it, our choir director thinks it's suitable for liturgy. I disagree, and he calls me a "reactionary." What can I say? Call me prejudiced, but I just kind of usually prefer religious music for religious services.
But, back on the subject, I don't think "Holly Holy" is the song that was requested.

The title of the song is HOLY HOLY and it is on NEIL DIAMOND/HIS 12 GREATEST HITS. I have the CD and if I don't see it posted in a few days, I'll copie it and post it for you. Good Luck Newfoundlander
