Hi everyone - I live in Surrey UK and I know some of you obviously live quite away from me! However, there must be someone out there, reasonably locally to me, who plays in the pubs and folk clubs. It would be great to come and see you play, and put a face to some familiar names.... anyone? I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed!

Well, I live just on the border between Surrey and Hants.I'd be glad to give you info on local clubs, where other catters are ( mostly London) etc. PM me for further thrilling installments *BG*

By the way, I meant other catters close to Surrey, not to imply that all other catters live in London.

Thanks Morticia I would love some further 'thrilling installments', but how do I go about PMing you? Perhaps I'm a bit thick, but nothing seems to tell me on the help desk. Perhaps you or someone else, could let me know....cheers

If you up go to personal pages( top line under Mudcat Cafe)..type my name in the search box and hey presto! a message box appears...

Let's try that again, Mort. What she would need to do is to scroll through the options in the Quick Links box near the top of this page. Then she should select "Send A Personal Message". Next she should type in your Mudcat name. Your name will then appear in blue. Clicking on that will open the form with which she can send a message. (This sounds more complicated than it actually is.)

Of course, the obvious place to see people play would, needless to say, be at the annual gathering in February :-)

Annual: Recurring once every year

You've not even had one yet, Dai!

Of course. What I meant to say was, *ahem*:

Of course, the obvious place to see people play would, needless to say, be at the gathering which is intended to be a regular occurrence, and given the success of llanstock may be even more frequent than annual, when it gets going on a regular footing, in February :-)

Just read the annual gathering thread. Beer soaked pant flinging, inflatable (easy!) pirahnas, skinny dipping, it all sounds fabulous but where can I see you 'perform' (probably not a wise choice of words!)

Well I'll be touring the UK next September, so perhaps I'll get to meet you. I'll post the itinerary in Mudcat.

Cheers

"perform"? With some of the reprobates in these 'ere parts, the best place to see 'em perform is through the bottom of a glass in, say, the Middle Bar of the Anchor at Sidmouth or the barn at the Three Horseshoes at Towersey.
Or at Whitby, Bedworth, Banbury or any other festival around. The 'Catters tend to be the more extrovert, noisy (and dare I say it) fun people in any gathering.

I will be playing & singing music this weekend, at a local living museum, which is a representation of life in our town in the late 1800's. I can also be found singing & playing music at various holiday parties & family gatherings this & the next couple of weeks.

Hi - we have ventured further south than Manchester! - most years we can be seen at Sidmouth and Fylde Festivals plus several Lancashire festivals - but if you ever come to "Sunny" Blackpool we're to be seen on Wednesdays at the Falcon and Sundays at the Halfway house - more details on the Fyldefolk Website (plus other local venues) http://www.fyldefolk.co.uk and the Penny Black Web Site (with a piccy of the old man himself!) - http://www.pennyblack.n3.net
