Subject: 'feeding paregoric...' From: GUEST,Lyle Date: 07 Dec 01 - 02:56 PM I am trying to find lyrics to an old, old song that contains the line, "instead of feeding paregoric to some kid who's got the colic, I might have been a dancer in a ballet." Is this recognizable to anyone?? Thanks in advance, Lyle |

From: Joe_F Date: 08 Dec 01 - 11:03 AM It is conceivable that the following is another fragment (sung, like everything else, to the tune of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic"): When the baby gets a colic in the middle of the night, And you hunt the paregoric and you can't find the light... |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: 'feeding paregoric...' From: GUEST,Lyle Date: 08 Dec 01 - 04:16 PM Thanks, Joe F, but no, not one of those. I believe it was from somewhere in the late 1800's, but I'm not sure. I've looked at all tho old sheet music places I can find, but nothing yet. The tune is of a style that would be similar to that era. Lyle |
