Subject: Maid of Culmore From: GUEST,allie Date: 10 Dec 01 - 02:59 PM Hi, I'm looking for the lyrics to "Maid of Culmore" and they're not on the 'cat. I know Oige does a wonderful version of the song, and it's traditional. It starts "From sweet lovely Derry (or Londonderry) to fair London town..." thanks allie |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Maid of Culmore From: Malcolm Douglas Date: 10 Dec 01 - 03:27 PM And also Lyr Req: The Maid of Coolmore These may easily be found by typing coolmore (the common alternative spelling) into the very useful "Digitrad and Forum Search" box which you may have seen on the main Forum page. Searching for culmore would not find the Maid of Coolmore and Sir Aldingar thread. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Maid of Culmore From: Noreen Date: 10 Dec 01 - 05:37 PM allie, you would also have found it if you typed fair London town or another distinctive phrase into the Digitrad and Forum search box. Names of people and places in songs are notoriously spelled in so many different ways, it's useful to try an alternative search. (Those threads are very interesting too.) Noreen |
