James Galway, flautist and Bert Weedon guitar guru to several generations got their honours from HMQ yesterday.
(BBC ONline says:Veteran musician Bert Weedon, 81, who received an OBE for services to music, said the Queen asked him whether he had brought his guitar.

"I've had the honour of playing for the Queen on a number of occasions in the past and I was tickled pink when she asked whether I had brought it along this time." )

Must clean my monitor. I thought it read "Bert Weedon gets gong from Liz the Squeak". My heart went out to poor Bert for a moment!

good for Bert. i thing i have his " How To play..." book somewhere amongst my stuff that i brought with me, much battered and yellowed it's survived this long and i hope my grandkids will take good care of it.
