Good point, Carol. US Letter is for 8.5 by 11 inch paper, and A4 is for 210 by 297mm paper.

Well, Carol, In a couple of pics that I did not use,*  I had my guitar turned upside down ( with the neck by my knees and the base by my chin -- not quite like you would hold a violin).  I like the kind of body coverage I got that way, but I doubt that I could have done very good chording and fingerpicking in that position!

Just how long can you play standing in the stork position, Carol?  That takes real talent!

If anyone wants to buy a callendar in the UK I will copy it onto a CD and include last years as well and at no extra cost I will add a copy of the Digitrad. For all this, which includes postage and packing, I think the charge should be at least £10 but if you don't agree just send the equivalant in sterling of $10 US. It all goes to mudcat anyway.
Plus!!! I have Mudcat tee shirts in all sizes and Mudcat patches (Sew on cloth badges with the banjo/fish logo) so if you order a shirt or patch at the same time I could send it all in one package and save the extra postage. Shirts by the way are £12 and patches £3.50

I am selling the calenders. I put them on disc with a copy of the DT and last years calendar and sent them to catters in the UK. It is easier to send £££ to me than to send $$$ to Max, then all cash is transfered to Mudcat in one transaction via Dick Greenhause.

Alison posted a new thread a month or two ago about a 2003 calendar, but she said something about our having "done the nude thing to death" or something to that effect, and she suggested folks pose as a favorite folk song character. To me, that sounds complicated and maybe even expensive (unless you regularly performe in costume). (Of course, the "woad" folks' 'costumes' would be fairly easy-- and just a gradual transition from the old calendar format!)

As to all the months being "taken," Alison has sometimes had two folks "share a month."

Also, as Mudcat keeps looking for ideas on fundraising, I find myself wondering how much $ the calendar has brought in each year since its inception.

Whaddya think, Alison -- do we have a spot for Stilly hiding behind a dulcimer?

from what I heard we raised a couple of hundred dollars with the 2 calendars... but Max dealt with that so you'd have to ask him to get the total... I know Bill Sables sold some in the UK too

... and at $10 a pop, that's only about 10 calendars sold per year. Heck, there are more than that many people IN 'em!

Not that it wasn't a fun project (for everybody except Alison, probably), but that doesn't sound like a very lucrative fundraiser.

I sent out a least 25 of the 2002 edition (quick check of my email folder). More were sold that were not sent by me.

Personally, I didn't buy one because I prefer a hard copy of my calendars. Any chance of a few being printed on spec, and letting people buy them? If you need answers about printing processes, layout, stuff like that, someone who is involved with the process can PM me, and I'll get quotes for you from the folks I work with here at the University Press at U of Texas/Arlington. Others can undercut them, but since I deal with these folks all of the time I can get straight answers for you. (Keep it black and white and you can keep the costs down).
