I'm not expecting too much of this request BUT does anyone know a song called The Wedding of the McPhees of Loch Lomond. Apparently it's a parody of Bonnie Banks, at least 50 years old. Thanks.

Not in my usual haunts [Vanc.Island], but back temporarily in Scotland. I have heard the song you want, but have no immediate access to the lyrics. I MAY be able to pick them up from a friend, but not before hogmanay.If you haven't dug them up by then, I will contact. I remember this much--- the lyrics are [very] "blue". I think the title is "the Weddin' o' McPhee in the Gloamin."

Boab, thanks a million: the song was mentioned to me yesterday by an old man whom I drive to hospital in Glasgow. He heard the song in the army during WW2 and would love to see the lyrics again to bring back happy memories, comradeship, etc. If you can get the lyrics please PM them to me. Thanks again.

From Willie Scott. According to Roud (No.21762) it's published in the revised edition of Herd Laddie O' The Glen (songs of Willie Scott), but only in the 2006 revised edition (not the 1988 version I have!).
