I like "I Know That My Redeemer Liveth" better. It comes after the Hallelujah Chorus in the Easter section of Handel's Messiah. But then, I'm just a pre 1860's kinda gal.

This song, Precious Lord Hold My Hand and His Eye Is On the Sparrow are probably the three most widely sung gospel songs in black churches. I didn't realize until this thread that Because He Lives was written by the Gaithers. It only goes to show. I know many fine black singers who love to listen to the Gaither tv show, and who were great fans of the Grand Ole Opry. Music has never observed color lines..
