Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Because He lives From: Mary in Kentucky Date: 23 Dec 01 - 08:24 PM I like "I Know That My Redeemer Liveth" better. It comes after the Hallelujah Chorus in the Easter section of Handel's Messiah. But then, I'm just a pre 1860's kinda gal. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Because He lives From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 24 Dec 01 - 12:42 PM This song, Precious Lord Hold My Hand and His Eye Is On the Sparrow are probably the three most widely sung gospel songs in black churches. I didn't realize until this thread that Because He Lives was written by the Gaithers. It only goes to show. I know many fine black singers who love to listen to the Gaither tv show, and who were great fans of the Grand Ole Opry. Music has never observed color lines.. Jerry |
