Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: The River (Battlefield Band) From: Kernow John Date: 02 Jan 02 - 04:30 PM Unicorn I have the words and music in front of me but not me bloody glasses! There are 2 verses of 4 lines and a 3rd of 3 lines with a chorus of 4 lines. It's in G and was written by Alan Reid and John McClusker. Everything else is printed in size 8. I'll type it up tomorrow. Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: The River (Battlefield Band) From: Kernow John Date: 05 Jan 02 - 04:58 PM I should have added that I have no idea of the speed of the tune. I've not had the good fortune to hear it. I did hear the band live for the first time when they came to Cornwall last year and I can't have ever enjoyed a concert so much. The band looked and sounded as though they were enjoying it as much as the audience. KJ |
Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: The River (Battlefield Band) From: GUEST,Unicorn Date: 06 Jan 02 - 11:47 AM Sorry it's taken so long to get back on-line. Thanks a million KJ. Thought you might like to know (if you don't already) that the song was written about the River Clyde and its deserted shipyards. I think it's a beautiful song and it should be sung slow and with feeling! Thanks again - lots! |
