Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Barry Finn Date: 18 Mar 02 - 10:35 PM Hi Brett, just came across this. I saw my name above, seems there may have been a question on your part as to my (& hopefully Justine too) making it, no question here. See you both there if not before. Lots of long nights & happy days. Barry

Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: CET Date: 04 Feb 02 - 06:45 PM Brett: Congratulations!!! I would really like to make it to your wedding on July 14 - the music will be fabulous (and so will the beer. I don't know if Charmion and I can get to Maine that day, but if you don't see us we wish you all the best. Edmund |

Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Naemanson Date: 03 Feb 02 - 10:09 PM In an effort to refresh this and make it clear to my friends they are invited I offer the following: If you want a written invitation please PM me with your mailing address. If you feel comfortable showing up without such a thing I will provide full details here or on a continuation thread. Brien, Rebecca has requested that you prepare a Gaelic song to be part of the ceremonial musical offerings. I agree wholeheartedly. Remember, July 14, 2002, will be the party of the century. Be there or be square. |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: CapriUni Date: 18 Jan 02 - 12:50 PM Just to make sure to refresh it again as the wedding day approaches, to let us all know what we can bring to the party!! |

Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Naemanson Date: 17 Jan 02 - 10:37 PM I wasn't going to refresh this. Then I was. Then I decided not to. But I am so proud and happy that she chose me and I am so much in love I decided I might as well. I want to share this with as many on my Mud-buddies as I can.

Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Naemanson Date: 11 Jan 02 - 09:14 AM Thanks, Sam, I hope to get over there to the old world so you guys can meet her. She's pretty special. Jets, free reed people are always welcome. Come on along! Charley, I don't think stripes would look good at a wedding so don't bother with the special order. |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Sam Pirt Date: 11 Jan 02 - 05:44 AM CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! I am so pleased for you, best wishes for the future. Cheers, Sam |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Charley Noble Date: 10 Jan 02 - 08:43 PM No stripes, Brett? We can try to special order a new set. |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: jets Date: 10 Jan 02 - 08:36 PM Are free reed people allow to attend? |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Naemanson Date: 10 Jan 02 - 10:51 AM Jeri, you are welcome to wear a dress if you wish but this is a very informal affair. You may end up more formally dressed than the wedding couple! However, you may not. When we watched Shrek Rebecca expressed an interest in a dress like Princess Fiona. And I may wear a button up shirt rather than a tee-shirt.

Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Jeri Date: 10 Jan 02 - 10:08 AM SWIMMING?! There's SWIMMING?! Great - now I have to find a dress suitable to wear over a bathing suit at a wedding. Anybody make matrimonial celebration suits? (I won't do pink, by the way.) |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Naemanson Date: 10 Jan 02 - 09:26 AM Well, I have quite an extended list of guests myself without my Mudcat friends. Still it would be nice to have a good representation from the old 'Cat. I know Curmudgeon and Bat Goddess will be there as well as Jeri, Kendall, and Sinsull. Then there is Charley Noble, Dahlin, Brian, Uncle Jacque, Murrey, and probably a few others I haven't mentioned. I'd like to see Barry and family and a few more if possible. The site has plenty for a family to do together and lots for kids to do on their own. The water areas will have lifeguards so they should be fairly safe. Music should be plentiful. I expect to have a wonderful song circle in full swing. Plus I intend to ask some people for particular songs to be sung to help celebrate the event. |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Charley Noble Date: 09 Jan 02 - 05:03 PM Well, there's the Roll & Go extended family, which probably overlaps somewhat with Rebecca's list; there's Brett's family; there's assorted felines; there's the squiggly family; the dead horse and the dead dog; the entire 4th and 5th grade at a South Portland elementary school; various bill collectors...it's really hard to say.;~) |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: SINSULL Date: 09 Jan 02 - 12:35 PM Brett, Love, Now that you're taken, can I start using your "pick-up" line? If I hang around the bus terminal long enough and (smiling sweetly) say "I am looking for a man I don't know...could you be the one?", I'll bet I can find single men for all the Mudcat bachelorettes. Of course, I am talking quantity not quality. And there is always the chance I will be picked up for soliciting...but that would make for a great ballad. How many do we need to match Rebecca's 75 guests? |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: CarolC Date: 09 Jan 02 - 12:24 PM Well, Brett, you were quite a temptation. But I knew you would never be happy with someone like me who couldn't (wouldn't) sing. Just as well, probably. Look what you've got now... someone who can sing underwater! |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Naemanson Date: 09 Jan 02 - 11:47 AM Well, all you bachelorettes had your chance at me. But I had to go outside of the Mudcat to find a bride. And Max so wanted to see a Mudcat wedding... |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: WyoWoman Date: 08 Jan 02 - 11:28 PM Ok, fine. That DOES it. We have to get busy and import some more bachelors from someplace. The Neil Young Center? Seriously, Brett, I'm thrilled for you. I'll be there in spirit and wish both of you much happiness together. Best, WW |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Mary in Kentucky Date: 08 Jan 02 - 09:06 AM Love is like a butterfly, the more you pursue it, the more elusive it is. But when you are not looking for it, it will come and light on you shoulder. Congratulations Brett. Are you taking your canoe that came to PalTalk? Talk about big entrances... |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: wysiwyg Date: 04 Jan 02 - 10:12 AM Benjamin, drop me a line! ~Susan (motormice@hotmail.com, mention Mudcat in the subject line) |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Bat Goddess Date: 04 Jan 02 - 10:11 AM The best advice I ever got was not to go looking for love. Relax, enjoy life, sing, make merry . . . Gee, Brett, I think I was the one who told you that -- and Curmudgeon was standing there to reiterate it. (Nyah, nyah, toldja so.) Linn (grinning) |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: hesperis Date: 04 Jan 02 - 03:26 AM Awesome! Congratulations to both of you. |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Amergin Date: 04 Jan 02 - 12:44 AM gotta ask my partner if she is up for a trip to the east coast this summer.... |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Amergin Date: 04 Jan 02 - 12:43 AM start saving up, mate.... |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Benjamin Date: 04 Jan 02 - 12:27 AM I really haven't been looking for anything Brett. There's too much to enjoy. That's great advice. While were at it, would anyone like to fly somebody out from Seattle to attend this wedding? I'd even perform some if the opportunity came up. |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: CarolC Date: 04 Jan 02 - 12:12 AM Is anyone from the DC area going who wouldn't mind someone |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Naemanson Date: 03 Jan 02 - 10:54 PM It will, Benjamin. The best advice I ever got was not to go looking for love. Relax, enjoy life, sing, make merry, and suddenly that carpet will slide out from under your feet and down you go. Murrey, you are on! OK, gang, now we have lined up a caterer. And Murrey is one of the best! Some of the non-traditions we plan on, just so you know, is that this wedding is going to be a pot luck, music party. It just happens to include a wedding. Oh, and I heard from my fiancee that she has a list of 75 friends and relations to invite! I hope my own side won't let me down by under-representing my side of the party! |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Benjamin Date: 03 Jan 02 - 10:44 PM Susan, are you sure? It's had quite a while to come true now. Nathan, I've heard about falling love. Still hasn't really happened. Though I do know that wonderful feeling you get when the audience applauds, not out of sympathy. At times it almost seems like I've lived for that. Brett, I sure don't believe it's happening right now. But it very well could happen some day. |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Amergin Date: 03 Jan 02 - 08:06 PM Congratulations, Brett! Benjamin....falling in love is like some one pulling a carpet out from under your feet...you don't think it will happen...you don't realise it is happening...and then it happens and you fall flat on your face....but unlike with the carpet...you land on something soft and cushiony and warm....it is the most wonderful feeling in the world...save perhaps for an applause.... |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Charley Noble Date: 03 Jan 02 - 07:58 PM I couldn't be more pleased for Naemanson, and at their partiuclar choice of each other. I'm more concerned about their plan to relocate well beyond the borders of Maine by next fall. There's this haunting song echoing in my head that I heard Margaret Walters and John Warner recently sing in Australia, which sounded vaguely familar so when I got back I confirmed that Garnet Rogers as well as Bok, Trikett & Muir also sing versions; anyway the chorus runs: For they marry and go as the world rolls back, They marry and vanish and die; But their spirit shall live on the outside track, As long as the years go by. It's part of a poem by Henry Lawson called "The Outside Track." |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Murrey Date: 03 Jan 02 - 07:17 PM OK my lips are sealed ( ooooh you know what a task that is for moi ! ) Hey you know I can do food and have fun at the same time --I'm great at multi tasking so we'll talk- er you and me about food right ! See you soon Murrey |

Congratulations and all the best to you and your soon-to-be, Áine (P.S. I hope that you're planning to have plenty of pics taken of yourselves and the Mad Mudcatters that will be appearing at the festivities - can't wait to see 'em!) |

Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: Naemanson Date: 03 Jan 02 - 10:02 AM Benjamin, you won't believe what will happen to you but it is the greatest thing on earth. Once you meet the one and start to feel like this you will never want it to end. Murrey, how much do you want to keep quiet? Do you want the catering job? Let's talk! Actually, Murrey, I thought you might like to put down the work for once and just enjoy yourself. But then also thought of some of the delicious goodies you make and I wanted a good batch of them for the gathering too. I am hoping that we will be overflowing with musicians and everyone will be playing, singing, eating, and drinking. Depending on how many RSVP I am planning on having at least one keg of Shipyard or Gritty's. |
Subject: RE: Naemanson to wed! From: wysiwyg Date: 03 Jan 02 - 09:53 AM Benjamin, your dream will come true. The one you would say you are SURE can't EVER come true, right now. ~Susan |
