Hello all,

I'm looking for lyrics to an old folk song. I think it is called "little water boy". It's about a little boy getting a job as water boy on the rail road watering the mules when it was being cut through the mountians. Or possibly in the setting of cutting the canal. The lyrics I know are as follows:

"Well, good morning captain -- Good, good morning son" (repeat X 2) "Have you got any work, down on the new road run."

Then the next piece I have is:

"Hey little water boy, bring the buck...buck...bucket now." (repeat X 2)

I'm not sure what is next but something to the effect of... "got to water those mules, so they don't burn out."

If anyone can give me clues where to look or knows where to find it, or better yet, has the lyrics I would sure appreciate the help.

There are at least two songs called Water Boy. One by Jimmie Rodgers, the other by Paul Robeson. Both are in this thread.
