i´m singer and guitarr player in the wonderfulest oldie-band of the world (plug´n´play - [www.plugplay.de]) and i need the lyrics of "Mississippi Delta" (Bobby Gentry, 1967). I didn´t it find in the internet, so you would make me very happy, if somebody could help me.

Pattyclink- You are looking down your nose. A good ole nostalgic song! Childhood reminiscence. Bobby Gentry knows how to write about the country south. My wife (from Georgia) just got some down home muscadine jelly shipped to her. A variant on the nonsense words learned by her as a child:
M-I crookedy crookedy I crookedy crookedy I humpback humpback I (= MISSISSIPPI!)
My wife loved it!
(Muscadines also called bullises. Scuppernongs are delightful- misspelled in Masato's website. Both are grapes)
