Subject: RE: ADD: In These Shoes? (Kirsty MacColl) From: GUEST,Felipa Date: 08 Aug 16 - 12:20 PM large selection of Kirsty MacColl lyrics http://www.kirstymaccoll.com/songs/kirsty-songs/ I found it frustrating that songs are listed which weren't recorded or weren't released, but then no lyrics are given. I only looked at a few, but re the lack of her lovelife, Joe, I liked "He never mentioned love." I don't find much resemblance, Dave, between Ewan's and Kirsty's lyric styles. |
Subject: RE: ADD: In These Shoes? (Kirsty MacColl) From: Dave Hanson Date: 08 Aug 16 - 11:20 AM Kirsty definitely inherited Ewan's songwriting ability's. Dave H |
Subject: RE: ADD: In These Shoes? (Kirsty MacColl) From: Joe Offer Date: 08 Aug 16 - 03:09 AM Gee, she did some really funny songs about her love life (or lack thereof). Here's "England 2, Colombia 0": And then "There's a Guy Works Down the Chip Shop, Swears He's Elvis" (1981):. |
Subject: RE: ADD: In These Shoes? (Kirsty MacColl) From: Allan Conn Date: 07 Aug 16 - 03:57 PM She may not have been baptised at all if her parents weren't religious. I take it her name was registered as MacColl though as her brothers etc seem to use that name too |

Subject: Lyr Add: IN THESE SHOES (Kirsty MacColl) From: Mrs.Duck Date: 07 Apr 02 - 06:10 PM Could it be the Kirsty MacColl song 'In these shoes?' IN THESE SHOES (Kirsty MacColl, Peter Wilfred Glenister) I once met a man with a sense of adventure He was dressed to thrill wherever he went He said "Let's make love on a mountain top Under the stars on a big hard rock" I said "In these shoes? I don't think so" I said "Honey, let's do it here." So I'm sitting at a bar in Guadalajara In walks a guy with a faraway look in his eyes He said "I've got as powerful horse outside Climb on the back, I'll take you for a ride I know a little place, we can get there for the break of day." I said "In these shoes? No way, Jose" I said "Honey, let's stay right here." No le gusta caminar. No puede montar a caballo (She doesn't like to walk, she can't ride a horse) Como se puede bailar? Es un escandolo (But the way she dances, it's a scandal) Then I met an Englishman "Oh" he said "Won't you walk up and down my spine, It makes me feel strangely alive." I said "In these shoes? I doubt you'd survive." I said "Honey, let's do it. Let's stay right here." No le gusta caminar. No puede montar a caballo (She doesn't like to walk, she can't ride a horse) Como se puede bailar? Es un escandolo (But the way she dances, it's a scandal)
