In my English Tapestry thread I mentioned that they did a lovely version of a Ralph McTell song "Another Rain Has Fallen". Has anyone out there got the words ?

Where exactly are they? I don't find a Ralph McTell link, and none of the alpha letters will take me anywhere.......the lyrics, etc. need to be posted here. I was going to do it, but can't find the thing.

Sorry Sorcha, the site is still under construction and hasn't been tested fully - only on Opera 5 and IE5. What browser are you using? You need java and frames to use the site.

If you can't see it, that worries me a bit, I'll have to investigate!

I couldn't get it either. None of the letter buttons worked. I punched at the names below but didn't bring him up.

Finally brought it up from the names. They aren't in alphabetical order, which stopped me for a while. What are the letter buttons for?

The letter buttons should take you to the appropriate bookmark - i.e. 'R' for artists beginning with ...

Dicho: Yes, your right, Ralph Mctell is in the wrong place - A comes after O ;O)

The letter buttons should light up on 'mouse over', but as they ar" "" anchors should work even if they don't. The only thing I can think of is that you have Javascript disabled. Puzzling.

PS Do you see any animations on the main page? Or just blank white squares?

FM

PPS Thanks for your patience and help!

What list of names??? Yes, I can see the animations, but I clicked on the floating cube that was supposed to take me to LP covers......no joy. All I can see is the Main Menu on the right and a remote on the left. I see no list of names on the page. "Links" worked, but I didn't see Ralph there.........(this is puzzling!)

Dicho- I think I understand. You are on 640x480 resolution, right? You can't see the bottom frame.

I've added a 640x480 button which will help ...

That was part of it. I prefer 640 also. First, I changed the resolution; then I could see the list of names under the remote. I clicked on Ralph, and got a list of album covers with photos. Then, I exited the net entirely, changed the resolution back to 640 and went to your place again.

This time, when I clicked on the 640 res. box, I got the list of names in the right menu.....is that what you intended?

I still haven't found the lyrics you said were posted there...............

Well I managed to download the words and music as a JPEG without any trouble - and it was me who started this thread. I think it's a case of "Ring the bell I'm on the bus". Anyway thanks again Folkmonster.

Lyrics (and music) to "Another Rain Has Fallen" are posted at Folkmonster's site. (See above if you need help with navigation.) Now, would anyone like to transcribe the lyrics and post them here?

From: Sorcha

ANOTHER RAIN HAS FALLEN
Ralph McTell

Another rain has fallen, and I am the ploughman,
And I love the rain; Another rain has fallen and I am the ploughman.
And I need the rain.
For the rain will soften all my ground, and make my plough cut perfectly.
The earth is ready for the seed. A little rain is all I need.

Another rain has fallen,
And I am the sower, And I love the rain.
And another rain has fallen,
And I am the sower, and I need the rain.
For the rain will make the seed to burst,
Begin its life and take firm root.
To grow the crop, to swell the grain,
It must have a little rain.

Another rain has fallen,
And I am the reaper, and I watch the sky,
For another rain might fall and
I am the reaper, I must watch for rain.
For now I really need the sun
To reap the good crop that has grown,
If the rain falls now, my crop is lost,
And I'll be left to count the cost.

Of another rain falling.
And I am the lover, My tears like rain
Another tear has fallen,
And I am the lover, and I have cried again.
I have ploughed and I have sown,
I have guarded, I have loved
And like the farmer I must blame
My gamble, cost and loss on another rain.

Coda:
I have ploughed and I have sown,
I have guarded, I have loved,
And like the farmer I must blame
My gamble, cost and loss on another rain.

Thanks for the words as a text file Sorcha - it's saved me re-entering them from Folkmonster's JPEG. I'll see if I can find the time to make you up a MIDI File. This thread was originary a sort of off-shoot of my ENGLISH TAPESTRY thread as I remember them singing a beautiful 3-part unacc. harmony version. It'll be interesting to compare Ralph's original with what I remember.
