According to my local newspaper, in Argyllshire, the Hanna Sisters from County Armagh are playing here next weekend. Anyone know them? Should I not miss out on this opportunity to fork out £20 for two tickets to go and see them?

I saw them for the first time last year at Skagen International Festival in Denmark. I think there are 5 of them? Very talented, multi-instrumentalists, good vocals and very energetic. And they also look as if they are enjoying themselves! Definitely worth seeing. At £10 per ticket you could do a lot worse!

Thanks Unicorn: I'll call for those tickets right now! (According to my local paper there are four of them).

Wish I was there! When I saw them they had an "honorary sister" but I can't remember his name!! Hope you have a good time.

From Dunoon Observer and Argyllshire Standard 19th Jan 2002 " classically trained musicians...performing their own material...took plunge into crazy world that is music business. Raised on southern shores of Lough Neagh...their father's family synonymous with traditional music ...Clare: vocals and guitar, Breige: whistle, fiddle and vocals, Nuala: fiddle, guitar and vocals, Mary: keyboards and vocals... a unique blend of Celtic mysticism and romance, with the earthiness of folk rock". Sounds good, I think I wanna see this band!

That post was made over 6 years ago.
The link might have been good then but since gone dead or it might have contained an error, but I don't remember spam was a problem in 2002.
