Does anyboddy happen to know (or have) the lyrics for a song (prob.scottish): When Jamie comes hejm ???. It has been recorded by the Danish/Irish folkgroup Ashplant on theyre 1st or 2nd album. Unfortunately I can't reach the guy who sang with them at the time. It's a lovely ballad, and I'ed very much apprechiate any help! Ps.: My whife has been a folksinger for many jears in the danish folk-sceen, and I mainly play the Bodhrán. You can also mail me at: anr@pe.dk

I would expect this to be the Robert Burns song "There'll never be peace till Jamie comes hame" I'll have a look in my papers.....

I copied this poem/song below from a Burns site. If that's the one you are looking for, thank Håvard, for I wouldn't have recognised the line.
Wolfgang

By yon castle wa' at the close of the day,
I heard a man sing tho' his head was grey;
And as he was singing the tears down came,
There'll never be peace till Jamie comes hame. -
The Church is in ruins, the State is in jars,
Delusions, oppressions, and murderous wars:
We dare na weel say 't, but we ken wha 's to blame,
There'll never be peace till Jamie comes hame. -

My seven braw sons for Jamie drew sword,
And now I greet round their green beds in the yerd;
It brak the sweet heart of my faithfu' auld Dame,
There'll never be peace till Jamie comes hame. -
Now life is a burden that bows me down,
Sin I tint my bairns, and he tint his crown;
But till my last moments my words are the same,
There'll never be peace till Jamie comes hame. -

That's the thing Wolfgang - thanks! This is yet another very old tune that Robbie turned into a Jacobite song. (One of the best, by the way)

P.S. See if you can find the Whistlebinkies version, with big Mick Broderick singing.
