Hi y'all,

'O lonesome you' by the O'Kanes

Looked for this on the DT with no luck - does it ring a bell with anyone?

Thanks Hille

OH LONESOME YOU
by Trisha Yearwood
(written by Jamie O'Hara, Kieran Kane)

You think you got me wrapped around your finger
You treat me like my mama raised a fool
But I'll tell you how you'll feel
When you hear my tires squeal
And I'm gone with somebody new

It's gonna be oh lonesome you
Moaning those all-night blues
Maybe you'll see what it's like to be me
When it's oh lonesome you

My pride is gettin' sore from being stepped on
My heart is weak from swimming through the tears
But my two feet are strong and it won't take'em long
Just to walk on out of here

Then it'll be oh lonesome you
Moaning those all-night blues
Maybe you'll see what it's like to be me
When it's oh lonesome you

It's gonna be oh lonesome you
Moaning those all-night blues
Maybe you'll see what it's like to be me
When it's oh lonesome you

The right one?

I have the two O'Kanes CD's they issued (I don't think there was a third... if so, I want it.) That song isn't on either CD, and I don't believe I ever heard them do it. Jerry

Excellent Guys...

I don't know whether that IS the song Sorcha, but I have a friend with a touching knack of wanting to do obscure songs and a touching faith in that 'web-thingy place' so, will put this in front of him :) Thanks Jerry as well :)

Thanks again Hille xx

Jerry, 'Oh Lonesome You' was the opening track on side 2 of their debut self-titled LP 'The O'Kanes' Columbia 40459 (1986). There were 2 LPs, the other being 'Tired of the Runnin'' Columbia 44066 (1988). There was 1 CD: 'Imagine That' Columbia CK 45131 (1990). The other CD, 'The O'Kanes: the only years' Lucky Dog 61489 (2000), is a compilation of some tracks from the 2 LPs and one track from 'Imagine That'. Lucky Dog is a subsidiary of Sony/Columbia and why they didn't include all tracks from the 2 LPs beats me. Keiran Kane subsequently released a CD on Atlantic and several on his own Dead Reckoning label, including a beaut live set in Australia with Kevin Welch. Jamie O'Hara recently released his second CD after a long absence from recording. I am not sure what to make of it; it is quite different from his lovely 'Rise Above It' album.

Cheers, Stewie.

Cheers back atcha, Stewie: I am a great appreciator of the O'Kanes. My group sang at the Big Muddy Folk Festival in Boonville, Missouri last April and heard a wonderful group called the Reedy Buzzards. When they came out on stage, they blasted right in to Blue Love. I have three CD's of the O'Kanes..Tired of the Running and Imagine That, that I bought used recently over eBay, and The Only Years. Guess I'll have to check eBay now for their self-titled album. U have the Keiren Kane CD with Dirty Little Town on it... what a great song. And, Jamie O'Hara's first CD, too. Didn't know he'd just put one out. Doesn't sound like you like it much.
Jerry
