Subject: RE: Lyr Req:Cyril Tawney-When you're sailing out there From: Joe_F Date: 25 Jun 03 - 06:40 PM To my recollection, _Grey Funnel Lines_ contains none of Tawney's own songs except the one alluded to in the title, which appears as a sort of frontispiece. The book is an anthology of 20th-century British Navy songs. There is a book _Songs of Cyril Tawney_, but it contains no songs with the line mentioned. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req:Cyril Tawney-When you're sailing out there From: Jim Dixon Date: 26 Jun 03 - 09:14 PM According to this page, the album Maurice referred to is Cilla Fisher & Artie Tresize, "For Foul Day and Fair" (1978), and the song is "The First Time" (Archie Fisher). |
