o.k... so maybe, just maybe I'm biting off WAY more than I can chew, but I gotta try right....

Looking for some tunes here... guitar tab, or I guess sheet music that I can have someone help me with...

The first one is "The March Of The Dogs"...

The 2nd, "The 5 Pound Flute & Reels"... one called "Donald McLennan's Exercise" and the other "What Pain I Have Endured Since Last Year"... they might be trad... they most likely are not...

The third is for you folks who KNOW the OBD music... The fiddle bit that is repeated in "Barnyards Of Delgaty"... any idea if it's a tune of it's own? If it has a name, I'd love a copy of that too...

So, folks... any help you can offer up is most appreciated...

ABC I do not read... I don't even know where to start... that's why I made a point of mentioning guitar tab or sheet music... Any other suggestions or help?

Sarah2... ummm... The LYRICS for Barnyards I've been singing for almost a year... what I'm after is the fiddle bit... which will not be in the DT...

Clinton - there are several freeby programs that will render ABC files as sheet music. Not to mention Pavane's program which will read both ABC and Songwright files.

Clinton, March of the Dogs is not by Old Blind Dogs, its a piece written by my brother Russ for his chihuaha, Butch and my dogs, Old Wort and Maddy the scouce bitch. The Walter Bodega Band does the mp3 that you have.

Just spoke to Russ and he said he is honoured that someone else wants to do March of the Dogs. He has the tab for it at work which he says you are welcome to have, which he will send to me tomorrow so I can send it to you Clinton. He thinks Jaunty may have written sheet music for it, at one time too, but he isn't sure that it still exists, but he will check that out too. Unfortunately their webpage is down for upgrading at the moment or I would have sent you the link.

There is nothing in the liner notes of the CD to indicate what tune was used for the break for the Barnyards of Delgaty.

Rumour has it that the OBD has broken up. If its true it is a loss, oh well, Walter Bodega's still going strong.

Come to think of it, Galloping Goose/Beef to the Heel, Dark Eyes and March of the Dogs should be standard repotoire for all fiddle players.

There's a neat site called concertina.net that has something called the tune-o-tron. It let's you paste ABC's into a window and convert them into either sheet music or midid file. Very cool.
