I finallly did it! After decades of wanting to see the great Bob in person, I finally will. I hit Ebay and picked up two tix for his upcoming show. Eight rows back from the stage!!!

I remember many, many years ago, when I couldn't afford tickets when he was on tour. I had said I would give my right arm to see him. Well, it didn't cost me any appenedages - glad I waited so long.

So has anybody seen his this tour? What should I expect?

I hope it is all worth the long wait....

This tour? nope... but I've seen Bob 4 or 6 times... and I have to admit, with the exception of a gig he played in my home town to MAYBE 300 people, I've been left really lukewarm by the live shows of his I've seen...

Usually the best thing to do is watch his BAND! He does find some wicked cool talented people to back him up!

Have a great time eh! And grab me a t-shirt...

Dear 57, It's been many a moon, since I've seen Bob. 1974 with the Band and 1976 with the Rolling Thunder Review. He is ever changing, has incredible musicians in his band , who change up constantly from tour to tour. He is , however, Bob Dylan, an incredible legend to some of us. Don't miss this show and enjoy this great kid from Duluth/ Hibbing , Minnesota while you still can.

PS: Dylan still loves a great supportive audience.

I've seen him twice in the last few years and both shows were wonderful. I first saw him in the eighties and I swore I'd never waste my money on seeing him again. I then started hearing rumours that he had re-committed himself to live preformances. His band is rock solid, Bob seems to be sober, dedicated and most of all, enjoying himself. It should be a wonderful evening for you.

The first concert I ever went to was Bob Dylan at the old Boston Garden in 1977 or 78; I was about 13 at the time & totally impressed by his rendition of "It's Alright, Ma" and the unbelievable quantity of pot smoke billowing around me!

I saw him years later with the Grateful Dead, and while it was a great outdoor concert (somewhere in upstate NY, methinks), I was definitely less impressed with his overall performance, although I've always been a huge admirer.

Hey! I'm going to see him too... in Brighton, Sussex on 4 May. Standing room only though - which actually sounds better than being rooted to one's seat!

Okay - just be gentle with the howls of horror, I'm a Dylan-virgin: I have no idea what to expect as I have always sort of vaguely studiously avoided him (don't know why except that the raving and living legend stuff by people a lot older than me got a bit tedious and retro - but hey, next birthday I'll have the answer to life (42) and I'll have seen Dylan and I'll understand what they're going on about. (I suppose 20+ years ago it would have been like being taken to see Frank Sinatra by your Mum?)

I haven't seen him in person since the Newport Folk Festival of I think 1965, when he was young, brash, and full of Joan. But he was a fireball then!!

Since I haven't been to an arena concert for 12 years, I'm wondering, what, if any, type of security may be in place.

It would be a drag to get to the door only to find out I'd have to haul my butt all the way back to the car to put my camera back.

...humming lines of old Dylan tunes.....meet me in the morning, 56th and Wabasha......if you see her say hello, she might be in Tangiers....ah, those were the days....

Actually, I was being ironic there , whatever you do, don't get caught with a camera. Dylan's camera phobia is notorious. Security won't let you in with one, but I know a couple of people in Scotland who managed to smuggle a camera in and got some quite good pix, about ten years ago.

I saw Dylan last year (for the second time.) He didn't say much to the audience, but he rocked! And his current band is red hot. He seems to have overcome the lackluster approach to performance that bogged down his shows for years, and he even sings on key. You'll have fun.

He is playing here (Tupelo, MS) on the 18th. I hope to go. I saw him in Jackson MS. in 92. It was one of my highlights.

My great friend and true Bobaholic Johnny Death saw Dylan at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto this year, and said it was the absolute BEST Dylan show he ever saw! And he's seen about 25 of them over the years. Bob seems to really be on a roll these days. Have fun!

Amos - My God, I'd have given my soul to have seen him at Newport in 1965. You lucky dog!

Take a mini-disc recorder!! Bootleg copies!!!

I had free tix about 3 years ago, got dog-sick and couldn't go!! AND, it was the ONLY time he'd ever been to Wyoming!! I sold the tix as collector's items on eBay, then I didn't feel so badly, but I still would've given almost anything to have gone. Have fun!

Hey - let me know how the show was. Dylan is coming to my town in April and the tickets are ruinous. Even more expensive than the Stones. I saw him the last time he was here, about 10 years ago, and he played a whole set of oldies but changed the arrangements so much you did´nt know till half way through what it was he was singing. I loved every second but I think I was alone in my opinion!

I agree that good tix can be ruinous. I saw one of those ticket agency ads in the newspaper, and amongst the acts listed, Dylan was almost at the top. It ws decied at that moment I was going.

I then checked ticketmaster, yes, I was that deperate to see the show that I would stoop to dealing with that bunch, but they had no decent seats to be had. (Not surprised)

I next checked ebay, found two great seats. While I had the screen from ebay up, I called the ticket agency. I asked them how much for two tix in the same section as ebay had listed. They had some. When I told them their price was $100 more than ebay they said "Really? Let me check." I hung up and quickly bought the ebay tix before they could get to them.

So don't give up! You might be able to find something to fit your budget...
