So, I have the opportunity to make a first trip to Scotland and related parts this year. Looking at options of stuff to do, the Hebridean Celtic Festival looks like exactly what I'd like to build my trip around. It's on the Isle of Lewis July 17-20, this year's lineup not yet announced but last years was my dream festival.

Anyone been, or thinking of going, or that I can get interested? If I do this, I'll be looking for other ports of call in July.

Willie-O

No? What about the Stonehaven Folk Festival near Aberdeen, which seems to happen the previous weekend. A "small, friendly festival" featuring Aly Bain, Brian McNeill, Dick Gaughan among others appears to be worth one's time. That's last year's lineup though.

Anyone?

Willie, do you have to rub it in that by then I'll be back home and working again? It's bad enough to miss Glenfarg Festival! (Should you have privileged info on any worthwhile events between 14 April and 1 May I'd be extremely interested to hear about them...) Enjoy yourself!

Stupid me and my hair trigger. And trust me to start a thread then disappear for four days due to circumstances beyond my control (gainful employment). And I had forgotten to trace the damn thread.

Sorry Susanne.

Still, consider it refreshed. Anybody?

Where ARE all you Brits? Anyone gone to this Hebridean thing?
