I just found this site a few days ago and have really enjoyed it. I have been looking for the lyrics to old songs that my grandmother always sang and am surprised and pleased that someone out there knew them or took the time to find them and help me. I just skimmed thru a few of the threads and it looks like there must be some trouble going on with some guests at this site. I'm sorry that there are some people out there messing up this site. Fortunately, not all guest are like that and some are probably like me -- people looking for lyrics. Anyway, I wanted to commend you on this site. It is has been very helpful to me and I will visit again. Do you need to be a member to post a thread for a lyric request? I guess I need to look around the site more and read up on membership, etc. Best of luck and thanks again. Don't let the jerks out there get you down.

Laura, it is just a few guests, and the problem is with what they write as guests, not simply that they're guests. Unfortunately, they've ruined it for other guests.

You'll be able to post whatever you want as a guest until Max changes things. There's a whole section in the FAQ on benefits of membership. You can send personal messages (PMs) to other members, you can trace threads you want to go back to, and you can participate in the auction.

Laura,you don't need to be a member to post a thread, you've already posted one! I am pretty new here and the first response to a thread I made was as a guest. Then I continued reading threads I picked up on a lot of animosity from people towards guests, so I registered to be a member right away. It was no big deal to do that. Now I can enjoy the member benifits like the personal pages and more. So May I be the first to say "welcome" Rustic

I would like to point out that the animosity toward guests, has not been directed toward guests that post legitimate questions, or provide answers to questions, or post lyrics or other useful information. Only those guests that clearly post to cause trouble are unwanted here.

I'm sorry if that's the way I came off. I just meant that my first experience in here was that way. I must have found the crap threads right away! By no means do I have any problems with guests I have had great feedback and help from guests. With that said, I don't want your thread to become another controversy about guests so I bid you a fond farewell. Rustic

Only 2 requests for GUESTs---please be civil, and attach some ID to the word GUEST. It doesn't have to be your real name, but it's very helpful to know which anonymous post one's responding to.
