With a few good fellows, stout(very)and true I find myself travelling to the above destinations, for reasons not unassociated with an oval ball. Any members in the area got advice as to pubs, clubs etc for good music, (or bad women)?

Staying in Portcawl and travelling up to Cardiff for the match, by which time I expect you boys to have your hywel(?) back in working order.

Yours aye

Z

I went to school with Hywel... ;-)

Last time I went to Porthcawl, I got beaten up, for no reason other than for being from Port Talbot. There used to be a good pub in Pyle, the Tap and Spile - and the Prince of Wales at Kenfig is excellent and does cheap food.

Actually - I saw both threads on this - and said to myself - "Can't help him. Never been there. If I had, my information would be 20 years old at best." So, I kept my mouth shut. While I don't normally respond to threads to say "Sorry. Can't help, mate." I am this time.

Perhaps someone on the East Side of the pond might respond, presuming they're home from work, etc., and sitting down to the 'net before a tune or two...

Regaqrds -

Pete

Bitter experience says stay away from Kairdif on match days, unless you have aTicket

BTW who was the happiest man in Dublin last Sunday week. ? - The Welsh fan who'd lost his ticket !!

But Aye, theres plenty of good boozers within half an hours walk of the Arms Park (sorry millenium stadium) Try crossing the Taff and drinking in Canton, or down the Cowbridge Road.

Gareth

Thanks Pete.

Gareth, I'm assured I have a ticket, I just haven't seen it yet(!)Whether or not I'll still want it after this weekend depends on events in Rome, good luck in Paris. Thanks for the steer on pubs.

Does anyone have any thoughts on music in Porthcawl area?

A wee refresh to see if there's any more Taffs in da house.

Music in Porthcawl as above.

Also any info about a lowland walk as an alternative to going up Snowdon, should the weather be inclement.

Any info appreciated

Z(R)
