Subject: Long Odds Origin? From: Ralphie Date: 14 Feb 02 - 07:28 AM Is the English tune "Long Odds" Playford or not?? I'm about to record it, and seeds of doubt about its origins have been sown. I'd just love to credit the correct author! I'm sure there is some wise scholar out there who could help Thanks Ralphie |

LONG ODDS. English, Country Dance Tune (2/4 time). A Major. Standard. AABB'. The tune dates to c. 1796. Barnes (English Country Dance Tunes), 1986. Antilles (Island) AN-7003, Kirkpatrick & Hutchings - "The Compleat Dancing Master" (1973). ~Masato
