I've not been much worried about the whole Guest issue, but would point out that in the Sri Chimnoy thread, an example of the danger is shown. THere is a young lady in New York, who has paranoid fantacies about folks, and she made serrious and personal liabelous statements about me, who posts using my full name often (Larry Otway) and even my address - both email and snail mail when important. I think this is the real danger, mentaly unstable folks throwing barbs and running.

PS I am not worried enough about it to ask for a change of format, but I would ask my friends to recognise that those of us who post truthful statements, sign them.

That's right Spaw. Clearly, Larry started the trolling by initiating this thread, and with his attempts to equate anonymous guest posting with stalking and libel.

If that ain't flame bait, I don't know what is. So take the pledge folks, and don't feed the member trolls.

To fit the definition of libel, an assertion would have to be believable. In my opinion, any assertion made by an anonymous guest is not believable. Reasonable people don't put any faith in them.

Right Jim. Now you just need to work on your reasonable definition of a troll and a flame warrior to include some regular members of Mudcat. Fair is fair, as they say, although those who would say that apparently don't frequent this forum.

To the guest that said I intiated the trolling by starting this thread... there is a difference between trolling and answering the aligation that I am a paid informer. As someone who has worked in the civil rights movement my entire life, and is now impoverished by that work, answering that is not trolling. Answering the attack on my spelling (though my learning disabilty I have spoken of openly here) would be stooping to the same. Here it is simply. Yarrow, I will give you 24 hours to retract that statement or my lawyer will speak to you. Simple. If you say publicly I am a paid informant, prove it or be sued.
