My 82 year old mum, asked me to try and find these lyrics. She is over the moon and asked if I could tape Dennis O'Neils version. I haven't seen a tape recorder for at least 10 years. lol

If you put Martin Dardis song site in search or Irish trad folk songs you should find the words, have to say however I loathe this song

Me Grand Mother sang this song to me as a child in the late 50s early 60s. I couldn't remember the N and and D verses. So glad to have found it.

Anyone know where I can find an actually audio clip of Maloney's leg. My Dad's cousin was a Maloney with a fake leg. He came across the lyrics and sheet music which I could learn to play but I'd like to hear it first as would he. If anyone knows where I can find it online or what album I might be able to find it on, I'd appreciate it.

I was sure I had another version of a song spelling out Ireland somewhere, but in my failed attempt to find it, I looked through a copy of an old songbook I was given called "The Irish Tavern Folio of Humor Songs". Some of the titles are common, like Cockles and Mussels, but I thought I would list some of the others, and if anyone wants the lyrics, let me know and I will post them.

Late last night (Paddy's Day), a friend of mine found himself singing an Irish-American song with a chorus based on having a word for each of the letters in the word I-R-E-L-A-N-D. When someone commented "I've never heard you singing that one before", the reply was "Sure I've haven't heard meself singing it for at least thirty years!"

The problem is that he doesn't remember the "verse" - a long intro with a narrative thread, he thinks.

Any suggestions? A quick look in the DT doesn't show anything.
