Subject: RE: Pete Stanley's Birthday From: beachcomber Date: 21 Feb 02 - 04:30 PM Hey, I've been a Pete Stanley afficionado ever since hearing him on the old BBC Light Folk programmes. Once when in London on business I even managed to get to hear him with a Dobro playing friend whose name I have (my shame) forgotten. It was at some pub up in North London (perhaps the same one - it was in the mid-eighties?) and there were only a handful of people , but boy, did I enjoy Pete's playing. Happy Birthday Pete. beach. |

Subject: Pete Stanley's Birthday From: boglion Date: 18 Feb 02 - 07:08 PM For those of you who don't know Pete he's an excellent banjo player/maker. He's coming up for his 65th birthday -though you wouldn't believe it to see him. Many old friends will be attending including Wizz Jones. The date is March 7th 2002 and will be at the usual venue for his Thursday night jamming - The Admiral Mann Pub, Hargrave Place, LONDON, N7. As usual it's free!! |
