Salty reel - The scan seems okay. It is written in key of D. If you want me to send a copy, give me an e-mail address either in this thread or via a Mudcat PM, and I will forward the file (currently a TIFF but I can convert it to another format if necessary).
Quack!

I have found the dots jotted down for me a few years back on a scrap of manuscript paper. I will see if they will scan some time later today. If it comes out okay I will post back to arrange sending a copy.
Quack

Wow! thanks for the above info. That will give me something to get my not so many teeth into. Yes, it does seem to be called "Oh Joe" as well, most confusing, must be that folk process again.

We discussed the song(s) a while ago:  Oh Joe The Boat Is Going Over,  but no sign of notation.  I'll ask around; I know at least one person who plays the tune.

Does anyone know where I can get the dots for this tune. I've got several recording but they are all in 'C'and being old and grey(Ah!!!)I can't listen in one key and then play it in another, 'G'in this case. I think it's played as a step dance tune in Suffolk, and there was a song called Old Joe written by John read in 1881 but I don't know if that goes to the same tune. Pointers would be great. Thanks Sr
