Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Shout Little Lulie From: dick greenhaus Date: 27 Feb 02 - 12:47 PM Damn my failing memory. Rufus Crisp sang it and it's on a Folkways LP (not yet transferred to CD). I can pick it on the banjo, but words fail me, As I dimly recall, the chorus was:
Shout, little Lulie, shout, shout and the verses were the general banjo tune floaters.

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Shout Little Lulie From: Sorcha Date: 27 Feb 02 - 12:54 PM I did find out it's a Ralph Stanley song, but couldn't find lyrics. All I found with "little Lulie" is this, and I don't think that is it. |

Mr Greenhaus, How did you whip out that reference list so fast? Is there some cool search engine that will do that or did you dig through your cool record collection?

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Shout Little Lulie From: dick greenhaus Date: 27 Feb 02 - 08:30 PM I lifted it from Jane Keefer's Folk Index--neglected to credit it. Sorry. If you use Google, enter Folk Index, and it's the first thing that comes up. |
