Subject: Young Folk Competition - Needs you!!!

Hi

I recived this e-mail from a frind, they need some entrants, get in there and enter!! ------------------------ *From:* Alison Macfarlane

Some time back I sent out a message about our New roots competition for young musicians in the Eastern Region counties of Norfolk, Suffolk,Essex, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire.

Despite doing more publicity than last year we have had only 1 entry compared with the 11 we had last year. This means that unless we have a flurry of late entries, we shall have to cancel it and once we have paid all the cancellations fees, we shall be wiped out so the chances of doing it differently/ better next year will not exist.

If you know of anyone under 25 who was thinking of entering but didn't get round to it, please encourage them because, unless things change and this one takes place, there certainly won't be another New roots competition.

Alison Macfarlane Tel 01727 852111 ----------------------------- You read it, now do it...oh and GOOD LUCK!!

Cheers, Sam

I was going to suggest Harriet Bartlett (14) but she is outside the area - saw her 2+ years ago at the Chasetown FC (fri - nr Cannock) and she was putting adults in the shade then! Apparently she wowed them at Sidmnouth in the Radio2 tent.
There ought to be a law about youth and talent (give it time - I know)
She can be seen at the Bishop's Castle Folk week-end 24-26th May mrslemon.co.uk
