Does anyone know of any Folk Festivals in the UK over this Easter (29th March - 1st April)

Dave and I are looking for an event with plenty of good song sessions, rather than just concert events. We would need somewhere to park our caravan.

Lancaster is the only place to be at Easter!
Although it is a maritime fest rather than folk.
Don't know where you could park your caravan though?

I think Poynton Folk Festival is also on again this year.

Its in Cheshire, near Stockport.

Has anyone got any details of Poynton or Lancaster - are there any web sites ?

As Linda said, we would need somewhere to put the caravan.

The Lancaster Maritime Festival now has a WebSite. Much more than a shanty festival, performers include Louis Killen, Cyril Tawney, Hughie Jones, Jim Eldon, Dave Webber & Annie Fentiman et al.

Thanks for all the info. Lancaster is my first choice, but we are very interested in Poynton as well. Probably see some of you at either of these.

Thanks for the suggestions - if we can find a suitable caravan site we'll be at Lancaster, although we might pop in to Poynton on the way.

How many Catters are planning to get to Lancaster ?

Several Mudcatters who are also Shellbacks will be at Lancaster, though not me this year.

Go and see the Shellback Chorus- and join in the choruses! I guarantee you'll have fun...

We thought about going to Gosport because it was nearer, but we thought that the ticket price of £50 was a bit steep. Lancaster has a lot more people booked that we either know or want to hear.

Mr. Red may like to know that a brill cajun band called Joe Le Taxi are playing on *Good Friday at Priest Weston village Hall in Shropshire. I also believe they can be seen at the Bishop's Castle Folk Weekend (24th-26th May) on the Friday being presented by Stone Circle. *(PEL? not so sure music is allowed on Good Friday!)
