Does anyone know the complete lyrics to this lighthearted song, released on a record during the mid-60s. I may well not have the correct title, but other words include:

I loved my school at Cheltenham,
Where the chestnut trees are shady,
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
Of a typical English lady.

.........................
But at signing cheques and S E X
We became ..............craft masters

........... would tuck us into bed
With an outsize whiskey and water.

Can anyone out there help please?

I've never heard of a rugby club song about Cheltenham's School for Young Ladies - only the Roedean establishment - Which is near Rottingdean - so perhaps it should be in the Copper's song book !

Sounds like it could be to the tune of "The Pretty Little Ratcatcher's Daughter"

Here are a few more words which I recorded in about 1962, sung by a Eurasian (I think) actress, who could have been called Tsi Chin - but that is a guess as well! Unfortunately the tapes from my reel-to-reel have gone and I only have these few memories.

I went to school in Cheltenham
To a fashionable ladies' college
Where I learnt what's what and acquired a lot
Of exceedingly practical knowledge.

In the Upper 6th Form we were studying form
And we put on the money with the porter,
And at night the head used to tuck us in bed
With an outsize whisky and water.

I went to school in Cheltenham
With the chestnut trees so shady
Where I learnt of vice and all things nice
Like a typical English lady.

I went to school in Cheltenham
With a daughter of the landed gentry
But her most refined little one-track mind
Was exceedingly elementary.

School in Cheltenham by Tsai Chin

I went to school in Cheltenham
At a fashionable Ladies' College
Where I learnt what's what
And acquired a lot
Of exceedingly practical knowledge

Our reading, writing, arithmetic
Was positively mediocre
But we got pretty slick
At the three-card trick
And we played a pretty hand of poker

We were rather weak at the Latin and Greek
But we worked with considerable fervor
And we had to cram
For an English exam
On Lady Chatterley's Lover.

I loved my school in Cheltenham
With the chestnut trees so shady.
And I now embrace
All the charm and grace
Of a typical English lady.

I shared a room in Cheltenham
With a daughter of the landed gentry
Whose most refined
Little one-track mind
Was completely elementary

Our marks in French and algebra
Were a series of disasters
But at forging cheques
Or at S-E-X
We were absolute past masters

In the upper sixth form we were studying form
And we put on the money with the porter
And at night our Head
Used to tuck us in bed
With an out-sized whiskey and water

Let's give three cheers for Cheltenham
Where the chestnut trees are shady
When I learnt of vice
And all things nice
Like a typical English lady.
