John Hartford played a nice, easy thing called "Presbyterian Guitar" on PHC about a decade or more ago. Beautiful little thing, easy to pick out. Nice tempo for a wedding processional. I have no idea where you'd find it, though. Good luck!

Andy,

I believe the ultimate wedding processional tune to be "Fanny Power" by Turlough O'Carolan. I've played it at dozens of weddings and it's always a hit. It was written for the wedding of a friend of Carolan's and sets exactly the right mood!. If you can't locate a good arrangement, let me know and I'll email you one of mine.

A lot of O'Carolan's music is suited to weddings. I also like to play Bach (Jesu Joy) and many lesser known folk melodies (including my own!). Dave Panting (of Rawlings Cross) has a beautiful tune called "The Wedding Gift".

Hope that's some help..

EW

Also referred to as O'Carolan's Concerto when arranged for harp - guitar version for listening purposes to be found on John Renbourn's Sir John Alot Of as part of Three Irish Tunes

Re Fanny Power.

In my book, the alternative name for Carolan's Concerto is Mrs. Power, not Fanny Power. Fanny Power is a completely different tune. Mrs. Power is a faster tune, Fanny Power is slower and more graceful.
